Pop Triggers make more sense as raid glue than as a headline weapon. During the September 1-8, 2026 weekly rotation, they help with the Pop objective and can feed the materials needed for Fireworks Boxes, so checking the ARC Raiders Items pool is only part of the plan. The better question is what each pickup does for your whole run, not whether a Pop Trigger can carry a damage trial by itself.
The weekly angle has changed
The August 18-24 trial asked players to damage ARC enemies with Pop Triggers. That made the item feel like a precision tool, even though its rolling path could shift after deployment. September's rotation asks for flying-ARC damage with Fireworks instead, alongside objectives such as destroying Pops, dealing melee damage to ARC enemies, opening Old Town containers, and searching weapon cases.
This changes your loadout priorities. A Pop Trigger can still score progress when the listed objective calls for destroying Pops, but its bigger value this week is preparation. Clear Pops during normal movement, collect their components, and avoid treating every objective as a separate farming trip. That saves time and leaves more room for an extraction-focused build.
Do this, not that
The common mistake is burning every Pop-related item as soon as it enters your inventory. From what I've seen, the cleaner approach is to assign each pickup a job before leaving the hub.
Destroy Pops while passing through an area you already need to search.
Keep enough materials available for Fireworks Boxes before spending them elsewhere.
Use a Showstopper to create a safer opening against a Firefly or another controlled flying target.
Check the Logbook after extraction, since the completed raid is what updates trial progress.
Pop Trigger versus Fireworks Box
These items solve different problems, and confusing them leads to wasted inventory space. Pop Triggers are awkward scoring tools in open terrain because their movement can carry them away from the target. Fireworks Boxes are better suited to a planned attack after you have created a stable opening against flying ARC.
Item Best use this week Main concern
Pop Trigger Destroy Pops and gather components Unreliable path after deployment
Fireworks Box Damage flying ARC Needs suitable materials and timing
Showstopper Create a safer attack window Still requires target control
Why the Matriarch route worked
The old high-score method focused on the Matriarch because her large body and exposed core gave Pop Triggers a more dependable impact area. Players used the Snap Hook to reach an opening, placed the item near the core, and relied on the confined position to reduce the chance of it rolling away. That was smart target selection, but it also exposed the item's weakness: the environment often did more work than the weapon.
Smaller ARC in tight spaces can offer a less dramatic but more repeatable option. A Matriarch attempt may consume supplies and expose you to heavy attacks before the score is secured. For ordinary raids, a modest target near cover is often better than forcing a flashy DPS sequence that jeopardizes the whole loadout.
Ermal, testing, and the extraction call
A September 1 report claimed Ermal's Acquire Resources option could provide Pop Triggers without using stored materials, while a September 2 follow-up said the result could not be repeated. I could be wrong but, that is not stable enough to shape a farming route around. Check the menu if you are already in the hub, confirm the displayed cost, and treat missing materials as a sign to return to raids rather than trust an old community tip.
The practical takeaway
Pop Triggers still matter in ARC Raiders, just not as the center of this week's damage meta. Use them to combine Pop progress with material collection, reserve Fireworks Boxes for controlled flying targets, and leave with an extraction plan instead of a backpack packed with hopeful extras. For players refining supplies between raids, buy ARC Items only after deciding which objective the purchase actually supports.
